Secrets We Share S3E2: Vanessa (the 2nd)

Vanessa is a therapist that lives on the Central Coast of New South Wales works in Newcastle, an hours drive to the north. She works with young people and their families in times of crisis and difficulty.

She invited me into her office to talk about how she has noticed the lowering of age for adolescents experiencing an identity crisis and how they see their future, indeed if they have one at all. For her experiences as a mother of eight, how she has seen an increase in incidents of anxiety and pressure for the ever growing popularity of social media, and pressure to conform and how sand play helps her clients connect without the pressure of eye contact.

We talked about music, a shared love of ‘happy’ music and how this family, and this family are the new Kardashian’s and they aren’t even on TV.

Thank you to Vanessa for taking time out of her day to talk with me.

Thank you to Nick McCorriston for being my podcast guru and putting the thing together with music and intros.
