Mel is the CEO of the Conflict Resolution Service is Canberra ACT.
We met in her office in Canberra's city centre and sat down to chat about her passion for helping individuals and families, starting with a career in social work and the foster care system.
Mel talks with enthusiasm about the 'prevention model' which includes early invention for all people no matter the socio-economic background and how this would benefit everyone on society.
We also discussed the accessibility of services to families, neighbours, and individuals when communication has broken down. A full outline of services is also included, with dispute resolution and restorative practice talked about in detail.
My thanks to Mel and her team for supporting the community and thanks to Mel for talking with me.
Thank you to Nick for being my podcast guru and continuing to work his magic on the varying sound quality of having a 'mobile studio'. This one was a particular challenge, because I tried 'something new' (it didn't work very well).
