Secrets We Share S3E5: Ashley - strange and chatty

After attending high school in the UK Ashley moved to the Queensland/NSW border with her Mum and brother. After school she went on to study biology at the University of Queensland.

She describes herself as annoyingly evanescent a little bit strange for her love of collecting items that others may see as macabre (see the Patreon bonus material for the video). Ashley is a woman who works incredibly hard in her job as a research assistant and even harder in her role as volunteer wildlife trauma response.

‘Once you go bat, you never go back!’

Hear Ashley talk about her early life in the UK, how hard she found the transition to schooling in Australia, her devotion to Australian wildlife, saving animals so they can lead a full life, as well as saving them from and preventing pain, and the terrible toll that can take on mental and physical health.

Thank you to Ashley for letting me into her home and for taking time out of her day to talk with me.

Thank you to Nick McCorriston for being my podcast guru and putting the thing together with music and intros.
