My drive and passion in life has always been to help and support people in restoring a sense of harmony and balance amidst the changes and setbacks that accompany life experience.

I have over 15 years of experience in counselling and psychotherapy and my therapeutic approach is built on strong interpersonal relationships. I apply a client centered approach to counselling utilising a variety of psychologically focused therapies.

The underlying essence to my counselling approach involves demonstrating empathy, being non-judgmental and using unconditional positive regard. I believe everyone can change and reach their potential through a respectful, creative, and ethical journey. My focus is to provide my clients with the opportunity to become more self-aware, and more in control of creating the sort of positive change they want to see in their life.

I am committed to providing a highly professional and caring environment and my focus is to enable my clients to make informed choices in the therapeutic process and assist in improving quality of life. I maintain a professional and ethical standard of service and clients are always treated with respect and dignity.

I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Macquarie University and did a further two-year master’s degree in Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy from the University of Queensland. I am registered as a Level 4 member with the Australian Counselling Association and my clients are entitled to health fund rebates.

Over the years I have worked in a variety of contexts and with adults, families and children presenting from diverse cultures and backgrounds. I have particular expertise in providing trauma informed care, working with anxiety and depression, couples, children and workplace issues/bullying and harassment. I use several methodologies that are focused on the individual needs of my clients with a particular interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Narrative approach. My focus is to work with my clients in a collaborative way to help achieve the goals they desire.

Outside of work for self-care I love to embrace myself with nature including mountain walks and walks by the lake and have a particular passion for singing and music. I also have a beautiful four-year-old daughter who is the centre of my universe.
